Millie Goldsholl was encouraged and invited to enter the world of advertisement design by her husband, Morton Goldsholl, and went on to study architecture. Along with designing the building her and her husband’s studio would be located in, she also used the principles learned from that discipline to create visually striking video work. She “is most well known for running the film division of the Chicago graphic design firm, Goldsholl Design & Film Associates.” Under her and her husband, Goldsholl Design & Film Associates became one of Chicago’s leading graphic design studios in the 1950s through 1970s. “The studio became recognized for their animations, progressive hiring practices and developing corporate branding packages for various companies.” Millie and Mort’s work can be seen in the Chicago Film Archive’s collection.
